Transition & handover

Automotive IT Transition Under a Compressed Timeline

Transition leadership · Scope governance · Delivery readiness

The challenge

An automotive IT development transition faced a shortened delivery window, evolving scope and significant reliance on knowledge held by the incumbent team. Management needed a clear understanding of what the receiving team could take over and which dependencies still required attention.

My contribution

As Transition Manager, I coordinated knowledge transfer and stakeholder alignment while making scope, capacity and readiness gaps visible. I challenged the assumption that completed training sessions alone demonstrated delivery capability, bringing practical scenarios, independent development tasks and acceptance criteria into the readiness discussion.

Value for management

A clearer basis for takeover decisions, with explicit visibility of remaining dependencies and the implications of additional scope. My contribution connected transition progress to delivery evidence, helping management assess commitments against actual team capability.
